Operating out of Ensenada, Mexico, Ruvalcaba demonstrated his championship caliber with a commanding victory at the 2022 SCORE Baja 400, where he and co-driver Esteban Cruz overcame an 18th-place starting position to claim their first SCORE victory of the season.
The hometown Ensenada team's tactical approach proved decisive as they methodically moved through the field, taking the lead by the halfway point and maintaining it to the finish line. "David got a really good pace going on," Cruz noted after their breakthrough win. "He handed me the car in first place on time around race mile 223. He did his homework and I knew I had to do mine."
