Building on his championship foundation, Mike Pratt has established himself as a formidable force in SCORE's most competitive UTV division. The 58-year-old Draper, Utah veteran captured the Pro UTV Open class championship at the grueling 2022 SCORE Baja 500, conquering the notorious Ensenada desert course that has claimed countless competitors over the decades.
Pratt's victory came during one of the most challenging periods in SCORE racing history, when the sport was experiencing rapid technological evolution and increased competition from both seasoned veterans and emerging talent. His championship run demonstrated the perfect combination of driving skill, mechanical preparation, and desert racing intelligence that separates winners from survivors in Baja's unforgiving terrain.
Operating from his Utah base, Pratt represents the new generation of SCORE champions who have embraced the UTV platform's incredible capabilities. The Pro UTV Open class has become one of the most hotly contested divisions in desert racing, featuring purpose-built machines capable of matching traditional trophy trucks in both speed and spectacle.
His championship achievement places him among an elite group of racers who have mastered the unique demands of Baja competition, where reliability and strategic thinking often triumph over raw speed.
