Following in the tire tracks of his legendary father "Baja" Bob Gordon, this Charlotte-based desert racing veteran has carved out his own formidable legacy in SCORE competition. A four-time SCORE Baja 500 Overall Champion (1989, 1990, 2005, 2013) and five-time class champion in the same event, Gordon represents three generations of off-road racing excellence alongside his 10-year-old son Max, who is already following the family tradition.
Gordon's career highlights include being one of only nine racers to achieve the coveted SCORE Baja Triple Crown, capturing overall victories in the San Felipe 250, Baja 500, and Baja 1000. His 1989 Baja 500 victory marked his first overall win and the first for a Ford truck in the event. Beyond individual achievements, Gordon made history in 1990 when he teamed with his parents Bob and Robyn Gordon to win the SCORE Baja 1000 overall, making Robyn the first woman to be part of an overall SCORE victory.
Known for his technical expertise and deep understanding of off-road vehicles—traits inherited from his father—Gordon continues competing in the prestigious SCORE Trophy Truck division while mentoring the next generation of desert racers through his son Max.

A peninsula run from Ensenada to La Paz, Mexico only happens every few years, and for many of the SCORE Trophy Truck racers, they had been waiting since 2017 for another. This year, teams took no chances and many partnered with some of the best racers in both 2WD and AWD vehicles, trying to stack the odds in their favor.. Read More
Robby Gordon is busy these days, in-between a string of engineering meetings and patent consultations to talk about his strategy for the upcoming 52nd BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts. The racecourse is centered around San Felipe, and there's no doubt it will affect the outcome of the race. The "monkey wrench" in this year's SCORE International World Desert Championship racing season has been Covid-19, and the series cut down to two races, creating fewer opportunities for drivers to rack up championship points. "I haven't raced for a SCORE Championship in at least a decade," said Gordon. "We just don't have the time with Stadium Super Truck Series now, and with NASCAR and other races, we were so busy. Ironically, we had intended to run this entire year (2020) with our new AWD truck, but that got cut short." Read More
