Biography

As a veteran navigator in the demanding Pro UTV FI division, this Phoenix-based desert racing specialist has established himself as a reliable co-pilot in SCORE International's most competitive UTV category. Racing alongside the accomplished Sappington brothers—Cory, Scott, and Darren—Flanders has become an integral part of their Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo program, bringing precision navigation skills to one of desert racing's most respected teams.

His most notable achievement came during the grueling 2019 Baja 1000, where the Sappington/Flanders team piloted their Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo to a hard-fought 12th place finish in the ultra-competitive Pro UTV FI class. Completing the 1,134-mile peninsula run in 35 hours and 42 minutes, the team demonstrated the consistency and mechanical sympathy required to survive one of motorsport's most challenging endurance tests.

The Arizona-based navigator has also competed in the Baja 500, continuing to refine his skills in SCORE's premier events. His partnership with the Sappington family represents the collaborative spirit essential to desert racing success, where driver and navigator must work in perfect harmony to conquer Baja's unforgiving terrain while maintaining competitive pace against the sport's elite competitors.
