Fresh off his commanding Class 5-1600 victory at the 2018 SCORE Baja 500, David Heredia has established himself as one of the most formidable competitors in the legendary 1600cc VW Baja Bug division. Racing out of Ensenada Hacienda, BC, Heredia delivered a masterful performance through the brutal desert terrain, navigating what officials described as an exceptionally rough and challenging course that claimed most of the field.
The seasoned desert racer's recent triumph adds to an impressive championship resume that includes multiple SCORE Baja 500 class victories in 2019 and 2018, demonstrating his consistent ability to master the historic desert classic. His excellence extends beyond the 500-mile race, having achieved a coveted podium finish with second place at the grueling SCORE Baja 1000 in 2021, showcasing elite-level competitiveness in the world's premier desert racing event.
Heredia's success stems from his deep understanding of Baja's unforgiving terrain and his ability to maintain mechanical reliability when others fall victim to the desert's challenges. His recent Baja 500 victory, accomplished alongside co-drivers Marco Robles, Pedro Avalos, and David Valenzuela, underscores his continued dominance in Class 5-1600 competition.
The popular Unlimited Class 5 brought out several competitors with upgraded engines for more power. Finishing first was Don Chase in the No. 523 car with co-drivers Travis Chase, Jake Lauxen, and Errol Hamlin. Read More

Class 5 Baja Bugs are still as competitive as they were when they first entered into SCORE competition decades ago. The 34th SCORE San Felipe 250 wasn’t any different with four large teams competing for their first win of the season. Read More
