His most notable achievement came at the 2019 SCORE Baja 500, where he secured a hard-fought third-place podium finish in class, demonstrating the skill and endurance required to conquer one of desert racing's most demanding challenges.

Racing aboard a KTM 450EXC with co-riders James Ellis from The Woodlands, Texas, and John Holly from Houston, Wilbanks completed the punishing 542-mile course in 17 hours, 17 minutes, and 13 seconds. This achievement placed him among an elite group of finishers in the Sportsman Motorcycle category, where only 19 of 21 starters successfully completed the historic desert classic.
