Racing his Can-Am Maverick X3 out of Mexicali, this determined desert racer continues building his reputation in SCORE International's demanding UTV categories. Competing alongside co-driver Jose Ramirez, Fortanel has established himself as a consistent finisher in the highly competitive Pro UTV FI class, where forced-induction UTVs battle across Baja's most challenging terrain.

His most notable performance came at the prestigious 50th SCORE Baja 500, where he piloted his Can-Am X3 to a respectable 17th place finish in the Pro UTV FI division. Despite facing the grueling 18-hour, 51-minute journey through Baja's punishing desert course, Fortanel and Ramirez demonstrated the persistence and mechanical reliability essential for SCORE racing success. The duo crossed the finish line among just 21 finishers from 35 starters, showcasing their ability to navigate the technical challenges that eliminate many competitors.
