Biography

Drawing from the challenging Baja Peninsula desert, this Puerto Rican racer has established himself as a determined competitor in SCORE International's premier off-road racing series. Ortiz has demonstrated remarkable consistency in the grueling Sportsman Quad division, tackling both the legendary Baja 500 and Baja 1000 races aboard his Honda TRX450R.

His racing resume includes multiple finishes in SCORE's most demanding events, including a ninth-place finish with team 123a at the Baja 500, where he partnered with experienced racers Ismael Hernandez, Hector Camacho, Cristobal Quezada, and Zach Hayward. The team's 15:55:11 finish time showcased their ability to navigate the punishing 480-mile course through Baja California's unforgiving terrain.

Ortiz's commitment to the sport is further evidenced by his participation in the ultimate test of endurance – the Baja 1000. Competing in the 27th position with team 123a, he completed the grueling 1,000-mile marathon in 42:52:48, demonstrating the perseverance and mechanical reliability essential for success in desert racing's most prestigious event.

Representing Puerto Rico on the international stage, Ortiz continues to be a respected presence in SCORE's competitive Sportsman Quad ranks, bringing island determination to mainland desert racing excellence.
