Chris Kemp

San Clemente, CA - #93

Biography

Based on the SCORE Magazine archives, Chris Kemp achieved one of the most prestigious victories in SCORE desert racing history by winning the 2008 SCORE Baja 1000 in the challenging Baja Challenge class. Racing alongside an elite team of James DeGaine, Daniel Elkins, Vincent Trino, Pat McCleish, and Dino Cresentini, Kemp conquered the demanding 631-mile course from Ensenada to Ensenada during one of the most competitive eras in SCORE history.

The Baja Challenge class represents the pinnacle of multi-driver endurance racing, requiring exceptional teamwork, strategic planning, and flawless execution across hundreds of miles of unforgiving Baja terrain. Kemp's victory came during a season that saw only 227 finishers out of 347 starters, demonstrating the brutal difficulty of the course and making his achievement even more remarkable.

Operating out of San Clemente, California, Kemp has established himself as a formidable competitor in SCORE's most demanding races. His Baja 1000 victory places him among an exclusive group of racers who have conquered what many consider the world's toughest off-road race. The strategic partnership with his co-drivers and their ability to maintain pace while managing the technical challenges of the peninsular course showcased the level of preparation and skill required to succeed at SCORE's highest level.
