Kirk Kovel Memoriam

IN MEMORIAM - Kirk Kovel, 59, a long-time SCORE racer and professional machinist passed away last week as the result of injuries sustained in a two-car accident near Tampa, Fla. Kovel had homes in Florida and Colorado.
Born in Chicago on Jan. 27, 1956, Kovel raced in Class 3 in both the original HDRA series and the SCORE desert series in a vintage Ford Bronco. His last SCORE race was the 2009 SCORE Las Vegas Primm 300 and among his desert racing victories were his Class 3 wins in the inaugural SCORE Las Vegas Primm 300 in 1996 and the 2001 SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge.
