Ben Swift literally grew up in the cockpit of a Class 5 VW race bug, as his dad raced Class 5 in SCORE. And after a childhood featuring Kart racing, teenage Ben and his Dad decided to build another Class 5 VW and start racing together! They are a classic story of father-and-son racing – building the car together, pre-running together, racing together. Their Class 5 is a more traditional race bug with traditional VW parts – and Ben loves it that way! His first car was a VW and VW is in his blood! But Ben says if they can string some good finishes together this year, they may just build the car up with newer components and go for some wins!
