    ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico—Online ticket sales are now open for the 2022 SCORE Awards Night Gala to be held in San Diego.  SCORE International will celebrate on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2022 at the popular San Diego Air & Space Museum at the historic Balboa Park as the event will commemorate the 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship.
At the San Diego Air & Space Museum, over 600 SCORE racers, family, friends, crews, sponsors and media will bask in the sunny Southern California spotlight as the SCORE Awards Night Gala will honor the history and fame of the name which is the standard for desert racing worldwide while honoring the four-race 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship.

Ticket sales will close for the popular evening on Friday, January 20. There will be no ticket sales at the door.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for admission into the museum, followed by a pre-awards reception at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and presentations starting at 7:30 p.m.
This will be the fourth time and first since 2020 that the annual SCORE Awards Night gala will be held at the historic San Diego Air & Space Museum and the 12th time the historic evening will be held in Southern California since 2000, when it was held at Joe’s Garage automotive museum in Tustin, Calif. Because of the international health pandemic, the event was pre-recorded in both the 2020 and 2021 seasons from videos submitted by the award winners.
The event celebrates the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Organization that completed its 49th season in November at the BFGoodrich Tires 55th SCORE Baja 1000, presented by 4 Wheel Parts.
EARLY ENTRY
Guests at the event will be allowed to enter the museum at 5:30 p.m. to view the numerous historical displays at the popular facility prior to the start of the reception at 6 p.m.
AWESOME AWARDS
In addition to the special SCORE Achievement Awards and the Pro and Sportsman classes that qualified racers for class season championships along with five overall point champions who will be honored. Another highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the annual SCORE Off-Roadsman of the Year Awards.
Individuals as well as manufacturers and organizations are honored through eight distinct SCORE Off-Roadsman of the Year Awards, whose winners were decided by several thousand SCORE fans through online voting including the entire SCORE membership of more than 2,500. Among the awards to be presented are SCORE Rookie of the year, SCORE Contingency Company of the year, SCORE Pit Support Team of the year, SCORE Mechanic of the year and SCORE Person of the year.
MANUFACTURER POINT CHAMPS
The 2022 Manufacturer point champions to be honored as well will be Original Open Wheel Chassis, Engine Builder, Original Truck Chassis, UTV and Motorcycle.
SCORE MILESTONE AWARDS
Another element of the diverse program for the evening will be the presentation of the 2022 Rod Hall SCORE Milestone Awards, presented by Toyota Escondido.  As it has for 37 years, the coveted SCORE Milestone Awards are presented to those racers who finish every required mile of the 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship. A near-SCORE-record total of 54 racers completed all 1962.19 required miles in the four-race 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship.
SPECIAL SCORE AWARDS
Also part of the evening will be the presentation of the SCORE Legacy Award and the SCORE Person of the Year Award.
TRIBUTE
The evening will include a colorful video/photographic tribute to the 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship produced by BCII TV, SCORE Live and GetSomePhoto.

ESPN TV NETWORKS AGAIN IN 2022
For the fourth straight year, the 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship races will air on the ESPN family of networks. The four-races are airing as specials on the World of X Games program on ESPN2.
ABC first covered the 1967 and 1968 Baja 1000 races on the old ABC Wide World of Sports show with Jim McKay and again in the late 1980s with veteran motorsports journalists Sam Posey and Jack Arute.
All of the SCORE race coverage shows also continue to air internationally in nearly 25 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and South America via syndication and ESPN International. The shows are co-produced by SCORE International and SoCal’s award-winning BCII TV.
