LEGENDS- Dave Ekins

In 1962, Dave Ekins and his brother Bud made history helping launch Honda Motor Company’s first off-road motorcycles by riding them from Tijuana to La Paz. This 1,000 mile ride was validated at the La Paz telegraph office with a time stamp of 39 hours 54 minutes. Using a Honda support airplane to provide fueling, the two brothers – battered and bruised – became the first men to lay the groundwork for what would eventually become SCORE Off-Road Racing. The mission was legendary, and their ride has become part of the folklore and mystique that is Baja. This is LEGENDS with Dave Ekins
