Long-time SCORE worker Billy Wick passed away recently

[vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]SCORE International desert racing organization has learned that a former long-time SCORE worker, Bill Wick, passed away on Jan. 27. He had pulmonary fibrosis that was complicated by pneumonia and died in his sleep at home according to his daughter Kim Simpson.
Billy, as he was known, 77, worked with SCORE for 34 years when Sal Fish owned the organization, the last two decades as the president of the SCORE Officials Organization, the group that supplied the many volunteers for its races. He retired from SCORE after Fish sold the organization following the 2012 season.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Wick’s main career was as a Quality Assurance Manager for Lockheed Martin and also did contract work involving Quality Assurance. He lived the last 16 years in Green Valley, Ariz., but lived most of his adult life in Glendora, Calif.
“Billy was a good friend and a great asset to SCORE for over three decades,” said Fish. “He was dedicated, hardworking and loyal, three of the best traits any of us could have. Billy was a big part of the mast that kept SCORE floating and moving forward. I have many wonderful memories of working with him for all those years with SCORE.”
